  • 1 tablespoon tallow or turkey bacon grease
  • 1 pound boneless sirloin (cut into bite-sized chunks)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups beef broth (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
  • Kosher salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook turkey bacon until crispy; reserve some for garnish.
  2. Preheat a Dutch oven over medium-high heat; add tallow or turkey bacon grease.
  3. Sear sirloin chunks for 2-3 minutes per side; remove from pot.
  4. Brown ground beef along with optional spices for about 15 minutes.
  5. Combine seared sirloin and beef broth in the pot.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
  7. Crumble reserved turkey bacon into chili and season to taste.
  8. Serve hot with desired toppings.
