  • 6 ounces fresh mozzarella pearls
  • 1 demi baguette
  • ½ cup basil pesto
  • Gel food coloring (black)
  • 12 ounces cherry tomatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Fresh basil for garnish
  • Balsamic vinegar glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place silicone skull mold on a baking sheet and fill with mozzarella pearls. Bake for 6-7 minutes until melted; cool completely.
  3. Increase oven temperature to 475°F (245°C). Halve cherry tomatoes and place cut side down on parchment-lined baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, season, and roast for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Slice baguette into ½-inch pieces and toast for 8-10 minutes.
  5. Mix basil pesto with black food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  6. Spread black pesto on toasted bread, top with roasted tomatoes and cheese skulls.
  7. Serve garnished with fresh basil and drizzled balsamic glaze.
