  • 56 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 cups whole milk (or half-and-half)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional)
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chives, and thyme

Instructions

  1. Peel and cube the potatoes into ½-inch pieces; rinse under cold water.
  2. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat; sauté chopped onion until softened (5–7 minutes), then add minced garlic for another minute.
