  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup strawberry jam or preserves
  • Sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Roll tablespoon-sized pieces of dough into balls and flatten them into discs. Create a small well in half of the discs.
  6. Fill each well with about one teaspoon of strawberry jam, then top with another disc and crimp edges with a fork.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Cool on wire racks.
